The Echo of Raus
Four years after being expelled from French territory, some Ioana’s children, have been settled on German soil on the outskirts of Dortmund. Life in the caravan, as well as the activities around scrap or begging are long gone, giving way to a dream that seemed impossible, to live in an apartment.
Here the fear of deportation prevails in their lives, attentive to the new policies of the German Government.
In 2014, Germany has experienced a significant increase of population coming from Romania and Bulgaria, due to free residence across European community, from 1 January. Merkel’s government has decided to reserve the right of residence only to those immigrants who contribute actively in the German economic system.
